Reasons To Invest In Dividend Stocks
Investing into dividend stocks can be a profitable adventure and can really be a worthwhile experience. That is of course if done correctly. Below are 3 reasons why dividend investing can work out great.
1. Get Income Now
The first advantage of investing into great dividend paying stocks is that it can help investors to make money now. Instead of having to wait for the long term an investor can recieve a nice consistent cash flow off of their investment by investing into dividend stocks.
Receiving a consistent flow of dividends can be very rewarding and help an investor to hang onto their stock throughout all the bad times.
2. Pay Off Stock
Eventually the dividends that an investor receives will be able to pay off their original investment. So if the stock is paying out a dividend of 10% that means it will be able to pay for itself after 10 years. In reality it will probably pay for itself sooner because the stock’s price and dividend are likely to increase in the future.
Once the dividend pays for itself the price of the stock and any remaining dividends become pure profit. An investor does not even need the stock to go up in order to make a profit from a dividend paying stock.
3. Can Be Reinvested
In addition to that dividends can be reinvested into the stock in order to increase the return off of that stock. This is called drip investing and can be profitable in the long term. So how does it work? Well once an investor owns some shares of stock with a company they can enroll in the companies drip investing program, if they have one.
Then every time the dividends would normally be paid out they will go towards buying extra shares instead. That has a great potential of drastically increasing an investor’s return off of their stock by factoring in compound interest.
Basically buying dividend stocks can be very profitable and comes with many advantages.
